Brand Identity & Package Design - White Orchid IPA

The company name is White Orchid Brewing Co., and the product will be a Limited Edition Variety Pack of White Orchid IPA. The container will hold four flavors, Centennial Blonde, Chocolate Stout, Vanilla Cream, and Tropical. The inspiration for the name and aesthetic of the brand and product was an amalgamation of the orchid and the Art Nouveau style of Alphonse Mucha. The color theme used was derived from the series of posters done by Mucha titled “Pietre Preziose” (Precious Stones), done in 1900. Typography is a dominate element within the design, and the typeface selections convey the Art Nouveau movement punctuated with a neo-grotesk for a twist of today.

CONCEPT: WHITE ORCHID IPA DIE-LINE TEMPLATE PROTOTYPE

This is the base die-line I developed from my sketch that was built upon to create the final product.  My background as an engineering technician came in quite handy in the development of a fully functional and usable template.  This template was marked and cut out of a single piece of heavy weight poster board, scored and constructed.  The assembled prototype was reviewed for any inconsistencies and revised prior to the final product.

CONCEPT: WHITE ORCHID IPA PACKAGE TEMPLATE TIGHT ROUGH

This is the tight rough sketch of the design I selected to create the contour cutout of a die-line template that can be created from a straight-forward design. It was important for that the design had the vintage look and feel that is prominent in IPA branding.  It was also important that I was able to incorporate the contour cut-out of the orchids into the die-line for ease of print , cut, and production.
